Table tennis (or ping-pong, as it is sometimes called) is one of the most popular sports in the world. A fun game can be had no matter what age or standard the players are, and men and women can compete equally. You will need clothing that does not restrict your movement and training shoes that will not mark the floor. All equipment is provided except a bat; if required, one can be hired from the Sports Centre.

Updates 7/3/2012
AFTER THE FIRST 12-WEEK TERM: we had an average attendance of 14 people, playing on four tables, and 17 people joined as members. Another 12-week term has been booked, from 19th April to 5th July 2012, and the prices will be the same (see Club Information).
PUBLICITY: I distributed flyers advertising the start up of the club through the doors of over 2300 houses in the local area, and I advertised the club on a few strategic places on the Internet. I had quite a few telephone calls and emails as a result of this publicity.
CHILDREN: Some people have asked about children playing table tennis. Because this is a new club starting up, we do not have CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) checks for officials or a Child Protection Policy in place for the club, so (for the time being) our rule is that children must be accompanied and supervised at all times.
